Holy Family

An Appeal from Bishop Cotta:
As we witness the aftermath of destruction due to Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent flooding, the people of Texas and beyond are in great need of our support.  In union with the dioceses throughout the United States, we as the Church of the Diocese of Sacramento have an opportunity to assist our suffering sisters and brothers by taking up a special collection.
Because of the urgency of the situation, we are asking that the collection be taken up this weekend, September 2-3.  This is a time when Catholics, and all people of faith, need to come together as a sign of unity as we pray and support the humanitarian outreach to the families who have experienced the loss of life, home and property as a result of this unprecedented and overwhelming natural disaster.
Catholic Charities USA, the Churches official domestic relief agency, is already at work in the affected area and continues to deploy much needed resources.  The funds collected in this one-time special appeal will be used in support of the efforts of Catholic Charities USA, and their member agencies, in response to this immediate emergency effort to provide to the communities: shelter, clean water, food, and medical care.  In addition, it will be important to continue to offer the pastoral support necessary for the long term recovery and future rebuilding of the communities within Texas and the surrounding area.
Those who wish to make on online contribution to the relief effort may do so by visiting Catholic Charities USA or calling 1-800-919-9338.
you may also donate through our Holy Family Online Giving website.

May our Lady, the immaculate Conception, Patroness of the United States, pray for our sisters and brothers whose lives have been devastated by this natural disaster.

Since we will have the collection in support of disaster relief for the victims of Hurricane Harvey this weekend,  we will have the collection for our Faith Formation program the following weekend of September 9/10.

As always, thank you for your kind and generous support of our parish

This Sunday, September
Our Knights of Columbus are serving up a great breakfast this Sunday morning after the 8:30 mass.  $5 gets you a great breakfast and supports the seminarians who will be hosting the breakfast this month.
Let’s make this Sunday special by gathering together to celebrate our Lord’s love and resurrection and then enjoy breakfast as a community in support of our diocesan seminarians.

Monday, September 4th
is a holiday and the parish office will be closed

May you and your family and friends enjoy a most blessed and safe holiday.

Parish Festival

Saturday, September 16th from 4:00 p.m.—10:00 p.m.

Sunday, September 17th from 9:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.

Make Plans to join us for our summer Parish Festival.  There will be great food, fun and games for the kids, and a talent show.  For the adults, we have recently made plans for a beer garden complete with two horse shoe pits.
Since we are going to have a beer garden, it seems like a really good idea to have a couple of portable toilets available. If you, or someone you know, has access to these or knows someone who would be willing to donate them, please contact Deacon Mark Holt in the parish office at (916) 723-2494 X 142.
We are also looking for a large cover to provide shade for the stage area and the basketball court.  If you have any ideas or suggestions, please contact Deacon Mark Holt.
